Each container features a vacuum-seal design to keep foods fresh longer. Exclusive one-way valves force air out and don't let it back in, while food-grade silicon seals ensure a lasting vacuum seal that prevents liquids from leaking. My husband bought me this set so that we could toss out our mis-matched set. FreshVac containers are attractive which makes the food stored in them that much more appealing. FreshVac delivers as promised. Food kept in them stays fresh longer. This includes fresh fruits, salads, vegetables and homemade goodies. I marinate meat in the larger container and this seems to help the marinade seep into the meat better too.
